Flan Wins Best Dessert!

Tapastry's Flan was voted Best Dessert at The Taste of Essex at Mayfair Farms! Woo-hoo!

The annual event was sponsored by the North Essex Chamber of Commerce and featured forty local restaurants serving samples of their best dishes.

Cheryl, Greg & Gonzalo attended and served up delicious Tortilla de Patata,

Paella con Pollo y Chorizo

and our award winning Flan

Tapas are a centuries-old tradition in Spain & are part of the fiber of Spanish life

Legend holds that the Tapas tradition began when King Alfonso O Astrólogo of Castile miraculously recovered from illness by drinking wine with small dishes between meals. Health regained, the King ordered that all wine in Spain must be served with a Tapa.

Today, delectable appetizer-sized Tapas provide sustenance between traditional Spanish lunch and dinner hours. Spaniards all over the world gather every evening for Tapas to gossip, argue, talk sports or just spend some time together before returning home.

Capturing the very soul of Spain, Tapas dining is truly a communal experience when friends, acquaintances and loved ones take time to share a delicious moment.
